Members Guide

Guidance is provided here for Members on renewals, Club fees, Club play, court bookings, visitors, court keys & security.

The Club has three hard-courts and a club house and we are open for tennis all year round. There are three social sessions of Doubles play each week and members are also free to play at any time with other members of the club.

The Club holds summer tournaments each year and arranges friendly matches with other local clubs during the summer season. See the Matches page for further details.

Membership runs from 1st April to 31st March each year and subscriptions become payable from 1st March. A Membership Form must be completed to renew membership with the Club and all renewals are to be completed by the due date of 1st April. Non-renewing members will no longer be able to use the courts and must return their Court Keys.

Club Play

All Senior members are welcome at Club Play sessions, provided they play to a reasonable standard. Due to todays’ more stringent safe-guarding rules, Junior members are unable to play at club sessions.

Club Play times are as follows:

Monday Afternoons 1:30 - 4:30pm (All year round)

Wednesday Afternoons 1:30 - 4:30pm (October to March)

Wednesday Evenings 6:00 - 9:00pm (April to September)

Saturday Mornings 9:00 - 1:00pm (All year round)

(Wednesday sessions change gradually with the light in Mar/Apr & Sep/Oct)

On Saturday mornings, the Club Play session will be split into two periods: early morning for players who have the necessary skills, and late morning for members who are new to the game or still improving, as outlined above. This is in line with our long-standing rule about the “reasonable” standard required for Club Play sessions.

Saturday Club Play will be exclusively for the more skilled players from 9-11:30 am in Summer, and 9-11am in Winter. From 11.30am in Summer, or 11am in Winter, our members new to the game are very welcome to join in. Club Play will be extended to end at 1pm. (Please do not book courts for social play until after 1pm.)

There will be no restrictions for Monday or Wednesday Club Play sessions. All members are welcome. This is a change from our previous rule and is designed to encourage new and improving players to attend Club Play when they can.

Court bookings

Members may not book courts during Club play sessions; however, they should continue to book courts for play at all other times. Please use the online court booking system until further notice. If you have lost the link, email the Club Secretary or Club Treasurer and they will re-send the link.

See the attached Members Guide for more information on Club Membership.
