Members Guide

Guidance is provided here for members on club play, guest players & court bookings, court keys & security, and the annual renewal process.

Club Play

All Senior members are welcome at Club Play sessions, provided they play to a reasonable standard. Due to todays’ more stringent safe-guarding rules, Junior members are unable to play at club sessions. Session times are as follows:

Monday Afternoons 1:30 - 4:30pm (All year round)

Wednesday Afternoons 1:30 - 4:30pm (October to March)

Wednesday Evenings 6:00 - 9:00pm (April to September)

Saturday Mornings 9:00 - 1:00pm (All year round)

(Wednesday sessions change gradually with the light in Mar/Apr & Sep/Oct)

On Saturday mornings, Club Play will be split into two periods: early morning, for players who have the necessary skills, and late morning, for members who are new to the game or still improving. This is in line with our long-standing rule about the ‘reasonable’ standard required for Club Play sessions.

The early morning period will be from 9-11:30am in Summer and 9-11am in Winter. From 11.30am in Summer, or 11am in Winter, members new to the game are welcome to join in. Saturday sessions have been extended to 1pm.

There will be no restrictions for Monday or Wednesday Club Play sessions. All members are welcome. This is a change from our previous rule and is designed to encourage new and improving players to attend Club Play when they can.

Guest Players

Members are responsible for their own guest players. There is a fee of £5 per session for a Senior guest player and it is the responsibility of the member to pay this fee by bank transfer to the club account.

For a small fee (currently £5 per session), members may employ a third party coach for lessons at the courts, subject to evidence of the appropriate insurance and DBS checks being provided to the Chairman or Secretary.

Court bookings

Members may not book courts during Club play sessions. However, Members may reserve courts using the online booking system at other times, or simply turn up and play. Note that booked courts take priority.

Court Keys & Security

Remember to lock the court padlock securely on the gate latch, when you have finished playing, to prevent unauthorised access and potential vandalism. If anyone else is playing when you leave, please check they have a key to lock-up.

Annual Renewal Process

Membership renewals become payable in March each year and are valid for the following 1st April to 31st March period. Subscription fees are inclusive, non-refundable and payable from 1st March, regardless of your joining date.

Renewals are to be completed by the 30th April at the latest. After this date, lapsing members will no longer have the use of the courts and must return their Court Keys to the Club Secretary or Treasurer.
